The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation — comprising its five regional corporations (Villupuram, Kumbakonam, Salem, Madurai, and Tirunelveli), along with the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), Chennai and the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) Tamilnadu Ltd, all under the Government of Tamil Nadu, have jointly released a notification inviting online applications for the engagement of Apprentices for the year 2026-27 under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973. This is a 1-year apprenticeship training programme (NOT a permanent job) with a total of 1,518 training slots spread across Graduate Engineering, Diploma Engineering, and Non-Engineering Graduate categories. Eligible candidates must be Engineering Graduates/Diploma holders or General Graduates who passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or May 2026, and must hail from Tamil Nadu. Category I (Graduate Apprentices): A Degree in Engineering/Technology (Regular, Full-Time) with First Class, from a Statutory University or an institution empowered to grant such a degree by an Act of Parliament, in the relevant discipline; or an equivalent Professional body examination recognized by the State/Central Government
Category II (Technician/Diploma Apprentices): A Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Regular, Full-Time) from a State Council/Board of Technical Education, a University, or an institution recognized by the State/Central Government as equivalent
Category III (Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices): A Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Humanities (BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA, etc.), Regular Full-Time, from a UGC-approved Statutory/Deemed University
Candidates must have passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or May 2026, and must be a resident of Tamil Nadu

Shortlisting is based purely on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification relevant to the discipline applied — there is no written exam or interview
Shortlisted candidates will be intimated via their registered Email ID
Shortlisted candidates must then appear for Certificate Verification at the TNSTC Trichy Region office

Does This Apprenticeship Guarantee a Job at TNSTC?
No. Upon completion of the apprenticeship period, TNSTC (all regions), MTC, and SETC TN Ltd have NO obligation to offer employment to apprentices
An apprentice cannot claim any right to employment merely on the grounds of having completed the apprenticeship — this is explicitly stated in the official notification
No boarding/lodging expenses are provided, and no TA/DA is paid for attending certificate verification
Incomplete or erroneous online applications, and applications received after the due date, will be rejected — no further communication will be entertained
