The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation — comprising its five regional corporations (Villupuram, Kumbakonam, Salem, Madurai, and Tirunelveli), along with the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), Chennai and the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) Tamilnadu Ltd, all under the Government of Tamil Nadu, have jointly released a notification inviting online applications for the engagement of Apprentices for the year 2026-27 under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973. This is a 1-year apprenticeship training programme (NOT a permanent job) with a total of 1,518 training slots spread across Graduate Engineering, Diploma Engineering, and Non-Engineering Graduate categories. Category II (Technician/Diploma Apprentices): A Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Regular, Full-Time) from a State Council/Board of Technical Education, a University, or an institution recognized by the State/Central Government as equivalent
Category III (Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices): A Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Humanities (BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA, etc.), Regular Full-Time, from a UGC-approved Statutory/Deemed University
