about the GPSC AE Admit Card 2026, including the direct download link, exam date and timing, steps to download the call letter, documents required on exam day, exam instructions, important guidelines, and the latest official updates.
Important: This Is a “Common” Admit Card — Read Carefully
GPSC has issued a single Common General Studies Hall Ticket covering multiple Assistant Engineer advertisements simultaneously
This admit card applies to Assistant Engineer (Civil & Mechanical) positions under three separate recruiting bodies: Roads & Buildings Department, GWSSB (Gujarat Water Supply & Sewerage Board), and GMB (Gujarat Maritime Board)
If you applied for multiple eligible AE advertisements, you will still receive only ONE common hall ticket — after giving your online consent during the process — not a separate admit card per advertisement
This Common Preliminary Test score will be used across all the advertisements you’re eligible and consented for, avoiding the need to sit for multiple separate prelims
Printed copy of the GPSC AE Admit Card/Call Letter
One valid original Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving Licence) — matching the name on the admit card
Recent passport-size photograph (same as uploaded during application, if required to be affixed/carried separately)
Simple transparent ballpoint pen (blue/black), as specified in exam instructions
Printout of the online application form/confirmation slip (recommended backup)
Strictly Prohibited Inside the Exam Hall
Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and any other electronic/communication devices
Any printed or handwritten notes, books, or study material
Bags, wallets, or unauthorized personal belongings
Eligibility Criteria (Quick Recap)

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (varies slightly by specific advertisement/category — reconfirm from your official notification)

Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen meeting GPSC’s domicile/origin criteria as applicable to the specific advertisement
Full Selection Process — What Happens After Prelims
Stage 1: Common General Studies Preliminary Examination (26 July 2026) — objective-type screening test, qualifying in nature
Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive) — subject-specific papers in Civil/Mechanical Engineering for candidates who clear Prelims
Stage 3: Interview/Viva-Voce — for candidates shortlisted based on Mains performance
Stage 4: Document Verification — original certificates for education, age, category, language qualification, and experience (if any)
Final Selection: Combined Mains + Interview marks determine the final merit list; Prelims marks are NOT carried forward to final merit (standard GPSC pattern)
Note: The admit card and exam schedule for each subsequent stage (Mains, Interview) are released separately on the GPSC website closer to each respective stage — always keep checking gpsc.gujarat.gov.in and gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in for updates.
What If There’s an Error on Your Admit Card?
Name/Photo/DOB mismatch: Contact the GPSC helpdesk or write to the Commission through the official grievance mechanism on gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in immediately — do not wait until exam day
Wrong exam centre allotted: GPSC generally does not entertain centre-change requests once allotted, except in genuinely exceptional cases raised well in advance — report discrepancies as soon as the admit card is downloaded
Unable to download (Confirmation Number/DOB not matching): Double-check the exact Confirmation Number from your original application receipt; if the issue persists, it may indicate an incomplete application — contact GPSC support directly
Admit card not visible at all: This could mean your application wasn’t successfully confirmed — check your registered email/SMS for confirmation status, or contact the helpdesk
Last-Minute Preparation Tips for the Prelims (26 July 2026)
Revise General Studies fundamentals — Indian Polity, History, Geography, Gujarat-specific GK, Current Affairs and General Science, since the Prelims is a General Studies-focused screening test rather than a technical paper
Practice previous GPSC Prelims papers to understand the difficulty level and commonly repeated question patterns
Since it’s a common/joint prelims, competition may be higher due to the pooled candidate base across R&B, GWSSB, and GMB advertisements — aim to maximize accuracy over attempting every question
Reach your exam centre at least 45-60 minutes early — GPSC centres typically involve biometric/ID verification before entry, and the exam window is a tight 1 hour (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Keep your admit card and ID proof easily accessible, not buried in a bag, since checks happen at multiple points before you reach your seat
Start Mains preparation in parallel — core Civil/Mechanical Engineering subjects r equire sustained study, so don’t wait for the Prelims result to begin
