Merit List & Tie-Breaking Criteria

The provisional merit list is prepared based on the marks/percentile scored in the entrance exam. Candidates who clear the qualifying cutoff are eligible for counselling. If two or more candidates obtain the same percentile, the inter-se merit (tie-break) is resolved in this order:

1. A candidate who required fewer attempts to pass their qualifying exam (10+2/GNM) is ranked higher than one who took more attempts
2. If the tie still persists, the candidate with higher marks in the PGIMER entrance exam is ranked senior
3. If the tie still persists, the older candidate (by age) is given preference

What Happens After the Result — Counselling Process

• Candidates included in the merit list are called for PGIMER BSc Nursing Counselling 2026, expected to begin roughly 2 days after the result declaration
